Navigating the Blinking Light Mystery of the GearSpace Cargo Carrier

Hello, dear friends and adventurers! At Let's Go Aero, we're all about making your travel and transport experiences as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Our GearSpace Cargo Carriers have been part of countless journeys, bringing along everything you need without a hitch. But, like any good adventure, sometimes there's a little hiccup along the way. Today, we're here to chat about a quirky little issue some of our Sprinter van family have encountered and, most importantly, how to quickly fix it so you can get back to what you love doing most.

A Little Blink in the Road

A handful of you, about 5% of our Sprinter van users, have noticed something odd: when you first plug in your GearSpace Cargo Carrier, the lights start blinking rapidly instead of functioning properly. First off, we want you to know we've seen it, we've researched it, and we're here with the answers and solutions.

Before we dive into the nitty-gritty, let's get one thing out in the open: every single GearSpace Cargo Carrier (and BlackBox, for that matter) gets a thorough check-up before it leaves our home base, especially those bright and shiny LED lights. So, if you're seeing the blink, it's not you, and it's not us—it's just a little miscommunication between the carrier and your van.

Why the Blinking, You Ask?

The heart of the matter is actually something pretty cool: our LED lights are super-efficient, using just a tiny bit of power to light up your travels. While that's great for energy saving and longevity, it turns out that some vehicles, like certain Sprinter vans, get a bit confused by this. They expect a bit more power draw and, not finding it, send out an SOS in the form of those blinking lights, thinking something's amiss.

The Quick Test

If you're experiencing the blink and wondering if it's the carrier or your van, there's an easy test. Hook up your GearSpace to a different vehicle (anything that's not a Sprinter van will do). If the left, right and brake lights work properly, it's a clear sign that your carrier is A-OK, and it's just a little communication error between the carrier's efficient LEDs and your van. If the problem does happen to carry to a non-sprinter style van vehicle, please give us a call at 719-630-3800 so we can have a tech look other fixes for you.

The Happy Fix

Now for the good news: this is an easy fix! All you need is a lamp-out sensor adapter. This handy little gadget bridges the gap between your carrier's LED lights and your van's expectations, ensuring that everyone's speaking the same language and those lights shine steady and true. We've had great experiences with adapters from our friends at etrailer, who are always ready with the right gear for the job.

Steady lights, Steady Adventures

We're here to make sure your adventures, big and small, go off without a hitch (pun intended!). This blinking light situation is just a small bump on the road, easily smoothed out with the right fix. At Let's Go Aero, we're all about solutions, smiles, and making sure your journey is as fantastic as your destination. So, grab that lamp-out sensor adapter, and let's get those lights shining steady—your next adventure awaits, and we can't wait to be a part of it!
